It is said that diamonds are a girl's best friend. If that is the case, then Ron and Peggy Finnie come fairly high up the list of good friends of a vast number of women in the North-east.

It is over 40 years since they opened the doors of their first shop in St Nicholas Street, Aberdeen moving on three years later to George Street, which has been home to Finnies the Jeweller ever since. In 2001 the shop doubled in size with the addition of watch and clock showrooms, a new repair counter and new workshops.

The family commitment has strengthened over the years and together with son Matthew, daughter Sarah and her husband Stewart they truly have a winning team. The sheer enthusiasm and enjoyment they radiate has everything to do with their success and they all agree that no-one can put a price tag on personal service. The underlining love of quality jewellery ensures that a second generation of the Finnies family is on hand to help a second and even third generation of customers to select that special gift for any occasion.
